Hi all, I have 2 CDJ 800 MK2's and am always on the look out for a cheap cdj 800 as a 3rd cdj...
Just came across a nice cdj 800 mk1 which is in good condition and perfect price..

Just want to know, does the MK1 jog wheel feel different to the mk2?

And any other differences?

Thanks,
Jack.

Plattre is slightly less stiffer, I believe.

Also if you use a lot of MP3 CDs you'll just have to bare in mind MP3 is not supported on the MK1.

Continuous play is also not on the MK1 - where you press and hold cue to play the track and then press play to continue playing.

Display in center is ugly compare to mk2
buttons are black, compare to silver (nicer) on mk2
Upper display on mk2 is way more better, and displays track names on audio cd's :-)

and of course mk2's have newer firmware's

I used a pair of 800MK1's for several years. The wheel is lighter, but that didn't bother me. MK1s don't support CD-TEXT on the display. Unless you use MP3s, if the 800MK2 has a good feature set for you, you should be happy with an MK1 as a third deck. There's not really that much difference IMO.
